Description
Zuclopenthixol acetate (brand-named Xopixol Acuphase) is a short-acting, injectable antipsychotic used for the rapid treatment of acute psychosis, agitation, or aggression in patients with schizophrenia. It provides rapid onset (starting within 2 hours) and lasts up to 72 hours, helping manage patients who cannot take oral medication.
It is administered via deep intramuscular (IM) injection into the buttock or lateral thigh. The typical dosage is 50–150 mg, with effects peaking around 36 hours.
